Swirls of blue soar in varying shades of blue and natural raffia. Each coil’s core is made from banana fiber, wrapped carefully with raffia palm. As the wrapping continues, the fiber is threaded through the previous coil to shape the basket. Raffia fibers are commonly used in textiles, basketry, rope, garden twine, building materials, and roofing.
